Mehndi Ceremony- ‘A pre-wedding Henna Ritual’
Indian weddings consists of a series of pre-wedding functions which includes one of the most important – ‘Mehndi Ceremony‘. Mehndi ceremony is a pre-wedding ritual which every south Asian bride to be has to follow. Capturing these pre- wedding rituals helps us in connecting with the couple and with the family of both bride to be and the groom to be. Under this tradition mehndi is applied on the hands as well as on the feet, in intricate and beautiful designs. As per the tradition, the entire family of both bride and groom gather together with all the friends to celebrate this beautiful pre-wedding ceremony. Family and friends gather together to participate in the ceremony which lightens the mood of families so that they can enjoy to the fullest. We believe in capturing these joyous moments with the most natural effect possible.
Now a day application of mehndi is done with the help of an expert. Mehndi consists of henna paste which is made out of the dried mehndi leaves after which the paste is nicely poured in the plastic paper container. With the help of the container the expert applies the mehndi on the hands of beautiful bride to be. We captured the process and learned about this ritual in detail. Our team just loved how every ritual and pre-wedding ceremony differs in every manner. One of the main pre- wedding rituals included the Mehndi ceremony and Haldi ceremony. It is said that these ceremony helps bride to get that natural wedding glow and relieves her from all kind of stress. As far as application of mehndi in case of groom is concerned a mere token of application is sufficient. It is mark of good omen to apply mehndi to both groom to be and bride to be.
Mehndi tradition is quite famous among the south Asian countries such as India, Muslim community, Nepal and Bangladesh. We loved how people from diverse religion follow same pre-wedding ritual. A lot of emphasis is given to such pre-wedding rituals and the same is reflected in the Mehndi ceremony. We have researched a lot about the signature shots for such pre-wedding ceremonies. We have come across one such shot where bride to be and the bridesmaid showcase their hands and feet decorated with different and artistic henna designs. Shots of bride getting henna put on her hands and feet, shots of bridesmaid getting their hands coloured with the beautiful henna and shot of joyful environment must be covered in Mehndi ceremony.
Mostly a dance performance is prepared by all the female member of the family and friends. We preferred to shot the whole performance through videographer tools. Capturing video of such performance will eliminate the factor of still pictures. The couple can relive the moment by watching the performance being prepared by loved ones. Our team came up with so many different idea which covered- The Henna shot, Henna on hands, the one with the bridesmaid, the one with the family, bride-to-be and candid moments. No matter what INB Media production has always looked up for the satisfaction of its client and will continue to do so.
