Christening Ceremony

Christening is a ceremony where all the eyes are on the little one. Friend and family members gather on this sacred occasion to celebrate the baptism of new born in the family. Christening is a sacred ceremony which marks the beginning of new phase in the lives of family members and the new born as well. When it comes to photography we love to showcase our traditional approach in such ceremonies. We believe that christening is a sacred ceremony and with due respect we follow traditional pattern of capturing the ceremony. However, we do encourage ideas and suggestions from our clients.

Baptism is a part of christening ceremony which is takes place mostly in Church. Some churches do not allow photography inside the church we prefer our client to ask for the permission before booking the venue. In such cases we prefer outdoor shoot, it covers half of the problem faced by clients to whom the permission is not granted by the Church.  Christening ceremonies are all about newborn’s photography, we have to get more vigilant while handling newborn. Newborns are very delicate and they do what they feel like we cannot force them to pose, so for the matter we are totally uncertain about everything. We always prefer natural and random photography, the moment our expectations are met we move on to the next phrase of photography- posed photography.

Most important and mandatory part is the baptism photography in christening ceremony. There are few mandatory areas we consider while capturing the christening ceremony- Church view, child & parents, the holy ceremony and the one with priest. Christening ceremony is one important occasion for whole family and when we talk about ‘whole family’ it includes everybody present in the ceremony. A portrait of main family member is necessity when it comes to such sacred ceremony.

Afterwards, once the baptism is done we move on to the outdoor shoot location. Outdoor family shoot are recommended after baptism although it is not a necessity, the reason behind this is that it just happen to be an excuse to capture memories from your toddler’s childhood. And the more you add to the bundle of your memories the more you would cherish. Outdoor shoot if included in the christening ceremony gives ample of time to the family to spend some quality time with the newborn. Photography with family and friends during such an occasion will leave an imprint and will add to your memory lane. We prefer starting the photography session as soon as the baby gets ready or is being dressed by grandparents. Main motive is to capture each and every moment as soon as it happens. From dress of the new born to the shoes & other accessories we insist on capturing every detail from your child’s special day. We have a separate photography session for the toddler.
